3 Charged In Robberies Targeting Hispanic Street Vendors In East Bay: DA

Prosecutors said the defendants also robbed the vendors' customers.

OAKLAND, CA — Three men were charged Thursday in connection with a series of robberies targeting Hispanic street vendors and their customers in East Oakland, prosecutors said.

Alameda County prosecutors announced multiple felony charges against Howard Tisdale, 37, Keeyana Marie Johnson, 34 and Shiphon M. Degrate, 29, on Thursday, including robbery, possession of an illegal assault weapon, and evading law enforcement.

Details about the robberies and the suspect's arrests were limited.

Alameda County District Attorney Ursula Jones Dickson, in a statement Thursday, thanked police for their "thorough and prompt investigation of these robberies that led to the arrests."

The defendants are due in court on Thursday for arraignment, prosecutors said.
