OAKLAND, CA — Oakland police are lauding community members who tipped them off to a recent arrest.
Police say they arrested a man suspected of firing a gun in the yard of a home in the 600 block of Almanza Drive on Saturday, Oct. 17.
Nearby officers responded and took the man into custody in connection with the incident, according to the Oakland Police Department.
They also seized two firearms, body armor, ammunition and a loaded magazine, police said.
"OPD thanks community members who called, allowing officers to act quickly," police said in a statement on Tuesday. "Their reports helped officers respond and remove dangerous weapons from the street."
