ALAMEDA, CA — The arrest of a woman wanted on a warrant led officers to a drug bust in Alameda Sunday night, police said.

Police say an officer saw a woman wanted on a warrant near Ralph Appezzato Memorial Parkway and Poggi Street around 7 p.m. and approached her as she got closer to a car.

"During the investigation, officers located suspected narcotics and items consistent with narcotics sales, including scales and designer logos," the Alameda Police Department said. "The narcotics were later confirmed to be methamphetamine and marijuana oil."

The woman was taken into custody on suspicion of possession of narcotics for sale, committing a felony while released from custody and on the outstanding warrant, police said. Police did not say what the warrant was for.

"The officer's proactive patrols and vigilance helped remove these narcotics and items associated with drug sales from Alameda streets, making our community safer for everyone," police said.
