OAKLAND, CA — The cops were robbed.
A burglar broke into the headquarters of the Oakland Police Officers' Association at 555 5th St. and stole some money from a cabinet, a spokesman for the union said Saturday.
A suspect was arrested nearby attempting another burglary, OPOA spokesman Sam Singer said.
"No files or information were impacted by the break-in and theft," he said in a statement. "OPOA files are secured and locked and were not accessible to the thief."
"This demonstrates, sadly, that no one, not even police officers, is immune to ongoing crime in Oakland," Singer said.
