Applications for LCAP Parent Advisory Committee in Alameda Available
Group oversees spending of state funds

Applications for the 2014-2015 Parent Advisory Committee (PAC) for the Local Control and Accountability Plan (LCAP) are now available.
The LCAP is a three-year plan that links school districts’ spending to their specific goals for student achievement. It is part of the Local Control Funding Formula (LCFF), a new public school financing system introduced in California last year. (You can see AUSD’s first LCAP, which was developed for the 2014-2015 school year, here.)
A key component of the LCAP is meaningful engagement of families, employees, and other community members — including those representing low-income and English Language Learner students, as well as foster youth. That engagement occurs via the PAC, which provides input and feedback on the development of the LCAP. Ten to twelve members will be selected for the committee, which also includes district staff and representatives of the bargaining units. The committee meets several times a year.
