Gray Loft Gallery is pleased to present a satellite exhibition of recent paintings by Ginny Parsons. Ginny was raised in Chico, but has called the Bay Area and Alameda her home for more than 20 years. She teaches art to children, and is a renown artist in Alameda, the Bay Area and beyond. The large scale paintings in this show depict scenes from Alameda, where she finds abundant inspiration and creativity in the areas around the shoreline, estuary and parks.
She makes work that involves chance, and uses found wood and other materials in her art making. She is interested in dripping, pouring, splashing and moving paint, working intuitively, using a variety of common household ingredients like beeswax, bacon grease, borax and castoff house paint. Ginny’s imagery comes from nature, a place where she feels the greatest connection and concern. These paintings were inspired by Lincoln Park, which is in her backyard.
Join us for this opportunity to view a number of Ginny’s work in the spacious office of Alain Pinel Realtors. All artworks may be acquired through Gray Loft Gallery. 10% of the proceeds from sales of Ginny’s work will be donated by Alain Pinel Realtors to an arts education program benefiting children in Alameda.
