Auditions for "High School Musical" in January

Tomorrow Youth Repertory announces auditions for their spring MainStage Production

The theater company that brought Annie to the Kofman Auditorium stage in early December announces audition opportunities for their spring MainStage Production High School Musical. Tomorrow Youth Repertory encourages all young men and women ages 10-18 to try out for their latest show. Come join in on the fun of performing with an ethnically-diverse cast of teens and pre-teens.

This show is sure to bring back nostalgia for the teens of today and delight a new generation of younger actors who didn’t grow up with the show.

To sign up for an audition, please fill out the Audition form.

Audition: Thursday, Jan 15 and Friday, Jan 16 at 6:00 PM, First Christian Church, 2441 San Jose Avenue, Alameda. (Callbacks: Jan 17 at 1:30 PM)

There will be 3 parts to the Audition:

MONOLOGUE
30 seconds (not longer)
Monologue should be from a play (ideally) to show your range as an actor.
You must be fully memorized.
SINGING
16 bars in length
a cappella (without accompanying music)
Selection should be from a musical, if possible.
You must be fully memorized.
DANCING
Create your own 20 second dance solo
Bring your own music-- cued & ready to go. CD player and speaker with mp3/iPod/iPhone input & cable will be available to play your music.
Any style of dance (jazz, ballet, hip hop, tap, salsa, funky chicken!!, etc).
Be creative and play to your strengths. We are not all dancers and that is OKAY. Have fun with it!

Performance venue and dates in mid-May to be announced soon

Tuition: $495 (need-based scholarships are available upon request)
