LOVE. It’s never easy, even when it’s new. They say opposites attract, but will newlyweds Paul and Corie make it? He’s buttoned up and ambitious. She’s a free spirit. They’ve just moved into a high-maintenance high-rise in New York City, and things are not going well. Join them in this heartwarming, bubbly comedy as they find a way to live, laugh and love – at the top of the world.

Barefoot in the Park is directed by Sue Trigg, an Altarena Playhouse veteran. Trigg stays keenly aware of the shows original context: “Set in 1963,” she says. “Simon’s play manages to capture the uncertainty of changing times and the changing role of women and ‘traditional’ marriage. ‘Barefoot’ is a fabulous well-paced romp, one where we watch two people, very much in love, navigate the tempest of post honeymoon bliss with very different views on life and passion.”

Becky Doyle plays the effervescent Corie and Matt Davis, who was last seen as lead lothario Bernard in Boeing Boeing, plays her straight-laced husband Paul. Completing this comedic cast are Bonnie DeChant as Corie’s loopy mother and Randy Anger as the couple’s eccentric next-door neighbor Victor Velasco.
