Backyard Bird Watching for Everyone!
Birds both common and rare abound in our city limits. Find out more about them, what they need in order to live here, and how you can participate in bird science projects!
In Alameda we're very fortunate to be able to watch the seasonal migration of shorebirds and ducks along our waterways with summer marking the trickle that turns into a flood of their return for the fall and winter. Some of my favorite bird watching, though, happens in my own backyard and neighborhood. Here's my blog for KQED QUEST that relays some of the regular visitors we've had in Alameda and some of the ways you can attract more of them to our area.
