With an emphasis on breath awareness, each posture is approached with presence and care, allowing you to deepen your connection between body and mind. This class invites you to release tension, soften resistance, and cultivate inner balance as you move through a fluid and calming practice.</p>
<p>By aligning movement with breath, you will attain deeper levels of relaxation and restore a sense of spaciousness throughout your entire system. The class concludes with a 10-minute final relaxation, offering the nervous system time to down-regulate and enhancing&nbsp;the integration of the practice leaving you feeling more open, fluid, and at ease - both physically and mentally.</p>

The Back Room

<p>Landlady is the songs project of Adam Schatz. This evening he'll be performing his newest album, Make Up / Lost Time, on the grand piano, followed by a set of improvisations with Scott Amendola and Nate Brenner. Adam Schatz recently released an improvised album Civil Engineering Vol. 1, about which Aquarium Drunkard says, “unfolds like a stately and enigmatic vision of maybe jazz and imagined soundtracks. Tremendous listening."</p>
<p>Schatz has also played saxophone &amp; keys on recent releases from Neko Case, Wild Pink, Miley Cyrus, Caroline Rose, and Wye Oak and produced records from Casey Dienel, Sarah Goldstone &amp; Allegra Krieger, with more fun stuff coming out in the near future. His writing has appeared in the New York Times, The Talkhouse, McSweeney's and CREEM Magazine. And yet he is a different person from the very talented journalist Adam Shatz.</p>
<p>Tickets are $20 in advance and $25 at the door. Children under 12 are free. Advance tickets are available here, or if the show is not sold out, you may purchase your tickets at the door before the show.</p>

Rhythmix Cultural Works

<p>Artists of the African Diaspora @ K Gallery/Rhythmix Cultural Works features artists from various backgrounds including Nigerian American Victoria Bankole, Trinidad native, Stacy Mootoo and Panama native, Xioneida Ruiz. This exhibit’s eclectic mix of diasporic cultures and techniques embodies the very essence of Art of the African Diaspora’s mission and program.</p>
<p>In this satellite exhibit, viewers can experience a taste of various mediums and techniques presented by 9 local artists: Eric Murphy (Curator), Victoria Bankole, Stacy Mootoo, Xioneida Ruiz, TheArthur Wright, Chamia LaRae, Malcolm Ryder, Joanne Johnson, and Val Kai.</p>
<p>Stacy Mootoo’s paper quilted sculptural work consists of intricate single line by line multi-color paper cut motifs in the background forming the Pan African colors beyond iconic black figures like Malcolm X. TheArthur Wright presents an invented medium of bleach on black paper in pointillism style. Chamia LaRae and curator, Eric Murphy, present work in mixed media, while Xioneida Ruiz offers beautiful paintings, and Victoria Bankole, Val Kai, and Malcolm Ryder contribute their expertise in photography.</p>
