Fermenting Hope invites the public into a live vertical dance investigation about creativity, fermentation and hope.
What if hope isn't just a feeling, but something we practice? What has to break down for something new to emerge?
Over a four-day residency at Faction Brewing, choreographer Amelia Rudolph explores these questions with seven dancers in the brewery's towering industrial space. Amelia Rudolph is a vertical dance innovator and the founder of BANDALOOP. Her seven dancers work alongside an original score by composer Luke Mombrea and sculptural design by Todd Laby. Like fermentation, the process is open-ended: the artists set the conditions and let the work take shape.
The residency culminates in a public showing, a chance to see new work as it emerges. Afterward, Jon Moscone, Radium Arts Artistic Director, leads a guided conversation with the artists and public about the creative process.
Free and open to all ages. Nov. 13 7:00 PM * Faction Brewing, Alameda Point
