Chalk This Up To Random Kindness
Someone is writing messages of kindness and happiness in chalk on the sidewalks of Alameda and Bay Farm Island.

ALAMEDA, CA — Someone is spreading happiness, kindness and encouragement in Alameda, and they're doing it with a piece of chalk. The anonymous person is writing things things on sidewalks such as "Give more love today than you did yesterday. It matters."
The messages are written around Alameda and Bay Farm Island, with extra messages written near schools. Messages to kids, "'You're going to have the best year. Plus, you get new crayons.'
And messages to moms, "Hey Mom - Do you know what a good mom you are? You are a hero to your child. Pause and breathe that in."

Justine Lorenze of Salon 1500 on Encinal Avenue watched a client write a message on the sidewalk. Lorenze told ABC7, "She's a mom of three beautiful children, she's a great wife, and she just wants to devote herself to Alameda and show that everything here is so beautiful.”
And so her identity remains a secret.

The woman writing the positive messages hopes that other people will also carry chalk with them, and start a kindness movement one message at a time.
