Coast Guard Changes Command at Maritime Intelligence Fusion Center

Capt. Ronald Pailliotet relieved Capt. Stephen Chamberlin who retired after 25 years of service.

The U.S. Coast Guard’s Maritime Intelligence Fusion Center Pacific in Alameda has a new commander today. Coast Guard officials said Capt. Ronald Pailliotet relieved Capt. Stephen Chamberlin who retired after 25 years of service. Immediately before becoming commander, Pailliotet served as the Coast Guard’s attaché to Venezuela, where he was stationed at the U.S. Embassy in Caracas, according to the Coast Guard.

Coast Guard officials said one of Pailliotet’s previous assignments was chief of intelligence in the 8th Coast Guard District. Coast Guard officials held a ceremony today to mark the change in command and to show to the unit’s officers that they have maintained command of the center.

The Maritime Intelligence Fusion Center Pacific has responsibility for tactical and operational intelligence for all Coast Guard units in a 74 million square mile square area of the Pacific region.
