Coast Guard Cutter Sets Sail From Alameda: Photo Of The Day
The cutter was guided away from Coast Guard Island on Thursday.

ALAMEDA, CA — The Coast Guard Cutter Waesche got underway Thursday for a long deployment. David snapped this photo of the ship and crew leaving Coast Guard Island.
Waesche was named for Coast Guard Admiral Russell R. Waesche. It was commissioned on May 7, 2010 and its home port has always been Alameda.
