There is a great opportunity for local youths who enjoy playing basketball. Alameda Vipers Basketball Club has established teams for boys grades 4 to 8 and girls grades 4 to 6. The Alameda Vipers Club is affiliated with the national Amateur Athletic Union.
The Vipers are now conducting tryouts for their U13 (7th grade this Fall) boys team. We are looking at one or two teams in the Fall. Tryouts are Wednesday, August 29, at 6 pm and Thursday, August 30, at 7:30 pm at Alameda Point.
The goal of the Vipers organization is to create a foundation for their players to develop their fundamental skills while learning to play true team basketball and related dynamics. Their coaches believe it is important to have continuity as the player and their team develops with each successive year. The club provides a year round program divided into three seasons. It participates in AAU tournaments and league play, most games are local to the Bay area.
