There is a great opportunity for local youths who enjoy playing basketball. Alameda Vipers AAU Basketball Club has several established teams and is expanding to add a U9 boys team for its spring season. Tryouts for the U9 boys team will be Tuesday, March 20th from 6:00-7:30 PM at Wood Middle School, Alameda, CA, and Wednesday, March 21st from 6:00-7:30 PM at Lincoln Middle School, Alameda, CA.
The goal of the Vipers organization is to create a foundation for their players to develop their fundamental skills while learning to play true team basketball and related dynamics. Their coaches believe it is important to have continuity as the player and their team develops with each successive year. The club provides a year round program divided into three season. It participates in AAU tournaments and league play, most games are local to the Bay area.
The Alameda Vipers Club is affiliated with the national Amateur Athletic Union and currently has teams from grades 3 to 8 for boys and girls.
