Alameda, CA, June 12, 2012. Nidhi Chanani, Indian Artist and Illustrator based in San Francisco Artist, will be at Silk Road (1412 Park St) on June 30th to celebrate the release of her second book, Everyday Love Volume 2. She will be signing copies of the book and prints of her art from 12pm-3pm on Saturday June 30th.
Nidhi (pronounced nitty, rhymes with kitty) Chanani is a freelance artist and designer, whose illustrations capture the everyday romantic and whimsical moments in life. In a fast-paced society, her work reminds people to recognize those simple moments. Nidhi’s work also inspires young and old to pursue creativity and to recognize that art can be their voice and path in life.
Nidhi was honored at the White House on April 5 as a “Champion of Change”. The White House is honoring ordinary Americans across the country that are doing extraordinary things within their communities. More information on “Champions of Change” at the White House website:

Born in Calcutta and raised in suburban California. She currently draws and dreams in San Francisco. She creates art because it makes her happy – with the hope that it can make others happy, too.
Nidhi received formal training in illustration from the Academy of Art in San Francisco. She holds a bachelor’s degree in literature from the University of California-Santa Cruz. Her illustrations have been commissioned by Paramount Pictures, Hasbro, and Scribd, to name a few.
