  • Intro to Irish Harp for kids - 10:30 a.m.
  • Irish storyteller - 11 a.m.

  • Sean Lightholder & Friends - 3 p.m.

We start at 10 a.m. when Darcy Noonan, a fiddler known both here and in Ireland, presents "An Introduction to Irish Fiddle for Children." Darcy will play tunes, show how the bow and the fiddle work together to make the sound, play some jigs & reels and waltzes so that the kids will understand what they are hearing later, and why it sounds as it does. At 11 am Darcy will teach a fiddle class in Celtic Tunes.

At 10:30 a.m. Margaret Davis, a great harper who plays with Brociliande and Avalon Rising will present a similar program for children - "An Introduction to the Celtic Harp for Children."

At 11 a.m. Moira Grayland will perform Celtic pieces on the concert harp, and at 12 she will teach a Master's Class in Harp.

At noon, Miss Diana our Irish Storyteller will take the stage for an hour of authentic children's stories from Ireland. At 1 p.m. she will move to her tent outside where she will host children and tell them stories all afternoon.

At 1 p.m. Darcy is joined by Autumn Rhodes on concertina, flute, & tin whistle and Rob Wilson on Bodhran for an hour and a half of Irish Dance Tunes.

At 3 p.m. Sean Lightholder and friends take the stage to sing the great songs of Ireland, Old and New. Lyric sheets will be provided, so come along and join in the singing.

At 5 p.m. The Red Shoes come out and will astound you with their virtuosity on the fiddle & cello - (cello? Yep - a cello playing Irish music!)

At 5:30 p.m. Dan O'Sullivan - the Song Cycle leader from the Celtic Center in Los Angeles - will come out and sing with the Shoes - & if we are lucky - will lead us in a few songs.

At 7 p.m. - AVALON RISING - A TRULY GREAT ROCK BAND influenced by Celtic music throughout their development - together some 17 years, they are outrageously good, and often outrageously funny.
Avalon will play till 10:30 p.m.
