Ride The Rails Back To Alameda's Past

 

The Alameda Free Library is inviting the community to "Take a train trip with Historians Eric J. Kos and Dennis Evanosky. The Library will host Alameda By Rail, an Alameda Local History Program. Learn about A.A. Cohen’s 1864 San Francisco and Alameda Railroad that ultimately brought the Central Pacific Railroad’s first transcontinental train to town. See how a well-oiled streetcar system transported Alamedans from the West to the East End and back. There is so much more to learn about the rail transport system in Alameda. Join Eric and Dennis for this trip through old Alameda by rail. "

This program will be held in the Regina K. Stafford meeting room on the first floor of the ,  from 6:30 to 8 p.m. on February 15.
