Washington Elementary School will be holding a Seedling Swap Saturday, April 16 from 10 AM and 12 noon in celebration of Earth Day. Come by the Washington Elementary School Garden at the corner of 8th Street and Taylor Avenue in Alameda's West End with some seedlings you want to trade and pick up some new seedlings and plants.
If you are going to attend the City of Alameda's Earth Day celebration in Washington Park, plan on stopping by since we are only one block north of the park!
Most of our plants are California natives, and most are drought-tolerant. We also have many medicinal herbs. Some of the available seedlings will include Ceanothus, Sticky Monkey Flower, Pineapple Sage, Swiss Chard, Wild Strawberry, Mugwort, Mint, Cilantro, Western Blackberry, Golden Yarrow, native asters and much more.
