'Voter Basics’ Program at Alameda Free Library Saturday, September 8
Everyone is invited to learn about voting and register or re-register to vote during Alameda Reads’ Voter Basics at the Alameda Free Library program this Saturday, September 8, at 10:00 a.m.
‘Voter Basics’ will be in the Stafford Community Meeting Room at the Alameda Free Library, 1550 Oak Street (at Lincoln Avenue) in Alameda.

The League of Women Voters of Alameda (LWVA) and the Alameda County Registrar of Voters will provide information about voting and help participants register to vote.
Participants in the Alameda Reads program, registered voters, prospective voters, and community residents are all welcome at this free, public event. The main library is wheelchair-accessible and parking is available behind the library building.

During Voter Basics, Alameda County Registrar of Voters staff and LWVA members will help register prospective voters. The last day to register to vote (or re-register) before the November 6 General Election is Monday, October 22, 15 days prior to the election.
Members of the LWVA will facilitate discussions on voter rights and responsibilities, how to find more information about the upcoming election, and what to expect before, during, and after registering to vote.
Officials from the Alameda County Registrar of Voters will demonstrate the use of electronic voting machines.
The Alameda Reads adult literacy program has helped over 3,000 adults learn to read and write since 1985 with free, confidential, and one-on-one tutoring.
