Excessive Heat Watch Issued For Alameda, East Bay: NWS

Temperatures are expected to hit triple digits in parts of the East Bay this weekend with records expected to be broken. Alameda forecast.

ALAMEDA, CA — The National Weather Service has issued an excessive heat watch for most of the Bay Area including Alameda.

The heat watch will be in effect from 11 a.m. Saturday through 8 p.m. Tuesday.

Temperatures are expected to warm later this week and top out over 100 degrees in the interior East Bay Saturday through Monday. In Livermore, new records are expected on Sunday and Monday. Here in Alameda the Bay will keep us cooler, with the hottest day expected to be Monday.

Remember to stay out of the water because of the toxic algae bloom.

“The risk for heat related illnesses is increasing,” the NWS said on the agency’s Facebook page.

“Make sure to hydrate and take cooling breaks if you'll be outdoors. Avoid activities during the heat of the day if possible.”
