Free Tool Lending Library Planned In Alameda

ALAMEDA, CA — Did Santa leave something behind on his sleigh when he delivered your Christmas gifts this year? If so, perhaps the Alameda Free Library can help out with a Tool Lending Library.

The library is in the planning phase of creating a Tool Lending Library and needs your feedback about what you'd like to borrow. Are you a gardener who needs hand or battery-powered tools, such as a hedge trimmer once a month or a rototiller once a year? Perhaps you have a clogged drain and would like to check out a plumbing snake. If you've been eyeing a project around the house but don't have the tools to complete it, what do you need? A tile cutter? Planer? Auger?

The library is conducting a survey to find out everything you need and want to maintain your home or supply your hobbies. The survey covers the following areas:
