Fund Started To Help Firefighter Who Lost Home
Jason Hawkins is a Cal Fire firefighter who lost his home in the Camp Fire in Butte County. He, his wife and children need your help.

CALIFORNIA — Tens of thousands of firefighters are on the fire lines in California right now, protecting homes and lives of more than a quarter-of-a-million fellow Californians. Among them is Jason Hawkins. Unfortunately, Jason doesn't have a home to return to - his house in Paradise was destroyed by the Camp Fire.
A Go Fund Me account has been set up for the Hawkins family. According to the appeal, "The hospital where Jason’s wife works and the school that their children attend were also destroyed. They’ve gone through a tremendous amount in their lives, including two life threatening illnesses of their young children. Their house was a true refuge. The Hawkins family remains strong & resilient, but can use help as anyone would in this situation."
The fund was started by Stefan Hofmeyer of Alameda. It requests a relatively modest $12,000. Modest in terms of securing housing in the short term, losing one income, rebuilding or purchasing a new home, furnishing a new home and buying all new clothing for their large family. Hopefully, donations will continue to stream in once the goal is surpassed. "Money will be directly transferred to the Hawkins family from this GoFundMe account," the appeal reads
