Help Girls Inc of the Island City Teens Promote Zero Waste and Composting in Alameda
Our teens are organizing an environmental outreach project and need volunteers for two upcoming events.

Thanks to a generous grant from StopWaste, Girls Inc. of the Island City is partnering with them to promote their Ready, Set, Recycle campaign. Our teens are organizing a community action project and need volunteers for two upcoming events:
Compost Outreach and Pail Delivery
Date: Saturday, October 24, 2015
Time: 9:00am - 1:00pm
Place: Summer House Apartments
Help our teens promote composting and deliver pails to over 600 households in Alameda. A light breakfast and lunch will be provided.
Orientation and Free Film Screening
Date: Friday, October 16, 2015
Time: 6:00pm - 9:00pm
Place: Girls Inc. of the Island City
Be a Ready, Set, Recycle ambassador! We are asking volunteers who sign up for the outreach event to attend an orientation and free screening of Trashed. This film starring Jeremy Irons documents the effects of the global waste problem and what we can do to help. Volunteers will learn more about waste reduction in preparation for our event on October 24. Refreshments will be provided.
