High School Students receive $35,000 in Scholarship Awards from Kiwanis

Kiwanis awards five local High School Seniors Scholarships.

The Kiwanis Club of Alameda awarded $35,000 in scholarships to five local high school students. The scholarships were awarded to students based on submitted applications and their community involvement, educational factors and financial need. The recipients were Ibrahim Balde - Encinal High School, Tiffany Wong - Alameda High School, Anca Hommert - Encinal High School, Rongjian Yu - Alameda Science & Technology Institute and Winnie Zhou - Alameda Community Learning Center.

Parents and teachers attended the luncheon held at the Elks Club in Alameda. Kiwanis is an organization of volunteers dedicated to improving the world one child at a time. For more information visit www.alamedakiwanis.org.
