Lawn to Garden Parties
lawn conversion, sustainable gardening, planting with el nino, drought tolerant planting
Go from lawn to garden with sheet mulch - join a local lawn party.
Not like any other lawn party – these parties give you a chance to help convert a lawn into a garden using sheet mulch, all in one day! Sheet mulching your lawn into a garden will help your soil withstand the drought AND El Nino.

Help support the First Baptist Church on October 24 or Harbor Bay Isle Owner’s Association on November 7 as they transform their front yard and common area respectively. StopWaste educators will be on hand, along with nursery staff and Bay-Friendly Qualified Designers to guide us as we sheet mulch and plant the new gardens. This is a great opportunity to see the whole process, from curb cutting, prep, actual sheet mulching and planting. Participants will learn about lawn conversion rebates as well as drought tolerant plant choices.
Every participant will receive a 40% discount coupon for sheet mulch materials. After participating in one of these lawn parties, Alameda County attendees will be eligible to receive a FREE one-hour of design assistance from a Bay-Friendly Qualified Designer if they host your own sheet mulch party.

At the end of each event, there will be a drawing for complimentary sheet mulch materials and other garden gifts and plants. Please register @ www.stopwaste.org/lawnparty so that we have a head count for tasty seasonal snacks and tools and to receive location details.
