The Oakland Plant Exchange on Saturday had a great turnout as always. It was held in front of the First Presbyterian Church and the poor lawn got all soggy and muddy due to the rain and by everybody walking on it.
Despite all that, it was fun and lots of interesting plants were dropped off. Agapanthus, Ginger rhizomes, all kinds of succulents, Geraniums, Tree Dahlia cuttings, pots and much much more. This year, they added a sale booth, tool sharpening, raffles, soft drink and snack for sale, coffee and sandwiches for the volunteers.
We, die-hard fans are looking forward to the next one in October. It won't be raining then.
I always wanted to have an Exchange in Alameda, as I know there are many gardeners here. I will need lots of volunteer help though. Will see.
