Hello from Alameda Martial Arts: Home of the LockBoxing Black Belt Academy!
Saturday, Nov. 30th is Small Business Saturday and as a "Mom and Pop Karate Shop" with only one location and a single focus, Erik Lee and I welcome you to come visit our Open House on Saturday, Nov. 30th from 10-3.
We have a big schedule of fun events to give you a great taste of who we are what we do:
10:00 Adult Class taught by our JAWS Demo Team & Erik Lee. These middle schoolers are currently training in our "Junior Assistant Workshop" learning all about anatomy, alignment, and safe fitness and teaching practices. They are also earning their black belts through providing service to our Pee Wee Wrassler community by teaching and assisting in classes. We are so proud of them and we want to give them experience teaching. So, if you want a preview of what skills (beyond martial arts) your young child will learn at our school, then come support these kids and take a free class. Erik Lee will also teach you some fun "moves" so you'll be ready for anything.
11:00 Pee Wee Wrassler Fun Hour! Our JAWS team will also be on hand to play with youngsters and guide them through a challenging obstacle course. You'll see the kind of gross and fine motor skills we teach to our 4-6 year old students and they will work up a big frothy sweat (read, 'wear them out') so you can keep on shopping and supporting other small businesses in Alameda later in the day. You will also enjoy a great Demonstration by our team.
12:00 Kids Class Join our regular students for a great conditioning class for kids ages 7 & Up....Learn the basics of martial arts and best of all get a good feel for the kind of sprawling, rollicking fun we have down here. I'll be there to lead a Yoga Warm Up.
1:00 Sparring Class Want to know how our skills translate into the real world? Come watch a sparring class! We have many girls and boys who love respectfully practicing their timing and distance with their buddies.
2:00 Pizza Party! Hey, want to hang out with a bunch of sweaty kids and eat tangerines and pizza? Then come on down, you can be part of the team!
3:00 Done...whew!
