Pro Football Inducts Late Raiders Quarterback to Hall of Fame

Hall of Fame officials said Stabler was known for a style that was exciting and flamboyant.

Pro Football Hall of Fame officials voted the late Oakland Raiders quarterback Ken Stabler into the hall of fame today. Hall of Fame officials made the announcement at the Fifth Annual NFL Honors event at the Bill Graham Civic Auditorium in San Francisco.

Stabler led the Raiders to a Super Bowl win in 1977 over the Minnesota Vikings as well as to five straight AFC championship games from 1973 to 1977. He played for the Raiders from 1970 to 1979. Stabler was chosen for the Pro Bowl four times and at retirement he ranked second all-time in career completion percentage at 59.85 percent. Hall of Fame officials said Stabler was known for a style that was exciting and flamboyant.
