Public Notice: Provisional Appointment of Gray Harris to Board of Education

On July 22, 2015, the Board of Education for the Alameda Unified School District provisionally appointed Gray Harris to the seat of Niel Tam, who died on May 24, 2015.

Pursuant to Education Code 5091, the registered voters of Alameda have 30 days from the date of the provisional appointment (or August 19) to submit a petition for a special election to fill the vacancy to the office of the Alameda County Superintendent of Schools.

The petition is considered valid if it is signed by a number equal to 1.5% of the voters registered in the last regular election for Board of Education members.
