Reception for Student Art Exhibit Tonight

Tours of the exhibit will be available during the reception at the Alameda Free Library.

A reception tonight, Tuesday, from 6 to 7:30 p.m. at the Alameda Free Library will showcase the artwork of local students.

The fifth annual Student Art Exhibit, sponsored by the Alameda Multicultural Community Center, is on display on the library's second floor through March 30. Tours of the exhibit will be available during tonight's exhibit in the library's Regina K. Stafford Meeting Room, 1550 Oak St.

This year’s exhibit features art created by Encinal High School, Island High School and Wood Middle School students. Art forms include collage, paper mache masks, glicee print, photography, cut paper, metal work and ceramics.

Teachers presenting student artwork in the exhibit are Warren Haber, Eric Schoeffler and Joan Schwartz of Encinal High, Melissa Ortiz of Island High and Lindsey Shepard of Wood Middle School.

The exhibit is held in honor of community center volunteer Leonard E. Anderson.
