Rotary Club of Alameda Announces $15K Grant in Honor of Hadi Monsef

The Rotary Club of Alameda has created a $15,000 community grant in honor of Hadi Monsef, who was a member of the club for 38 years and spent his volunteer time in serving the community through Rotary sponsored activities such as the popular Concerts at the Cove music series.

“Hadi devoted his time and energy to Rotary and its mission of Service Above Self,” said Deb Knowles, President of the Rotary Club of Alameda. She continued, ”In establishing this grant, Rotary acknowledges the commitment Hadi made to the community and hopes to inspire others to follow his example.”

Applications for the Hadi Monsef Community Grant can be obtained by emailing Jeff Cambra at jeffcambra@earthlink.net. Grant applicants must be active status 501(c)(3) non-profit organizations that deliver services to residents of the City of Alameda. This is an equipment or product grant. No funds may be used for programs or administration. Completed applications are due on Friday, March 13, 2015.

Rotary International is a world wide civic organization whose motto is Service Above Self. The Rotary Club of Alameda provides grants to local non-profit organizations and approximately $60,000 in college scholarships to students attending Alameda high schools. The Club also sponsors the popular Concerts at the Cove music series and works on numerous local and world community service projects. The Rotary Club of Alameda meets every Tuesday starting at noon in the Grandview Pavilion, 300 Island Drive, Alameda, CA. The one hour formal meeting and program begins at 12:30 PM.
