Car Crash Triggers Grass Fire In Moraga
The Thursday blaze was quickly extinguished. A portion of Moraga Road remained closed overnight.

MORAGA, CA – A car veered off the road Thursday afternoon in Moraga, hitting power poles and sparking a small grass fire that was quickly extinguished, the fire chief said today.
Moraga officers and fire personnel extinguished the fire, which started around 3:30 p.m., in just a few minutes, according to Moraga-Orinda Fire District chief Jerry Lee. No injuries were reported, he said.
Moraga Road was closed between Corliss Drive and St. Mary's Road until 5 a.m. this morning while PG&E crews replaced the damaged power poles, Lee said.
