Salute to Education: Alameda Education Foundation Celebrates 31 Years
Alameda Education Foundation's event on April 19 will showcase innovative programs and honor volunteers.
Alameda Education Foundation (AEF) will host its annual Salute to Education event on Friday, April 19 from 6 to 9 p.m. at Rock Wall Winery, which honors volunteers and innovative programs from all Alameda public schools.
“This is the 31st year the Alameda Education Foundation has honored school volunteers and the good work done every day at our public schools and charters,” said AEF president Bill Sonneman.

Guests will enjoy listening to the sounds of the Alameda and Encinal Jazz bands while tasting delicious appetizers from Cafe Q while enjoying views of the San Francisco skyline from Rock Wall Winery.
Wines from local vintners including Rock Wall and R&B Cellars will be served, along with non-alcoholic beverages.

Guests will be able to review the innovative programs displayed on posters around the venue and “thank a volunteer,” according to Sonneman. AEF business supporters will also be recognized.
“The Alameda Education Foundation continues to support students, all school employees and programs in the Alameda public schools. I am very proud of the work and support the Foundation has provided since 1982. Our Adopt A Classroom, Middle School Sports, and Enrichment Programs enhance the lives of our students and teachers,” continued Sonneman.
Advance tickets are $30 and may be purchased online on the AEF website. All tickets include one drink ticket and a commemorative wine glass.
Additional drink tickets are just $5 each. Advance tickets may also be purchased by cash or check at Cafe Q, 2302 Encinal Ave. Tickets will be $40 at the door. Rock Wall Winery is at 2301 Monarch St., Alameda Point.
