Scam Warning Issued By AMP
If you think that you've fallen victim to the scam, call police to file a report.

ALAMEDA, CA — Alameda Municipal Power (AMP) is warning customers of a phone scam.
The city-owned utility company has received reports that scammers are impersonating AMP employees and demanding immediate payment from customers. In addition, AMP received a report of a caller falsely claiming to be a PG&E employee who was collecting payments for AMP.
The scammers are asking for credit card numbers and using a recording of an AMP’s employee’s voice.

AMP reports that it will never ask for credit card or debit card numbers and only provides automated courtesy calls to accounts that are already delinquent. If you receive a call, hang up and call AMP directly. Automated Phone Service for Payments or Account Information: (510) 748-3900
