Teen Volunteers Sought For Halloween Haunted House In Alameda

The youth-helmed, community event to return for 2021 to South Shore Center, and those in grades 6 to 12 are invited to help out.

ALAMEDA, CA — Alameda's annual Teen Haunted House will return for the Halloween 2021 season, and the call is out for young volunteers to assist with planning and operations.

Youth groups, clubs and individuals, grades 6 through 12, are needed to assist in planning, creating and working at the haunt, now in its 17th year, supporting ARPD Teen Programs, according to the City of Alameda.

"Volunteers will have the opportunity to have fun, meet new friends and earn community service hours while creating an awesome Haunted House for the Alameda community," organizers said.

The haunted house will run Friday, Oct. 29 to Sunday, Oct. 31 at South Shore Center, Park Street & Otis Drive in Alameda. The attraction is geared for those at least 5 years old and up.

Youth volunteers are required to attend two mandatory, planning meetings, on Sept. 22 and 29, plus commit to weekly hours during design and construction, and a minimum of five hours during the event weekend. (Info here.)
