Used Book Sale Returns To Alameda Library. Here's What To Know

ALAMEDA, CA — One of the best deals on the Island returns in October.

The Friends of the Alameda Free Library is hosting its used book sale at the Main Library again, with thousands of books available.

The sale kicks off Wednesday, Oct. 14, at 2 p.m. with unlimited $5 bags of books for teachers.

School of Rock band will then perform from 6 to 7 p.m., Joanne Schneider, a Friends of the Alameda Free Library board member, told Patch.

The sale will go from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Thursday through Saturday. The $5 book bags will be available to everyone on Saturday, according to the Friends of the Alameda Free Library.

Friends of the Alameda Free Library is a nonprofit started in 1974. The nonprofit supports the Alameda Main Library and other programs through volunteer work and fundraising, according to its website.

Volunteers are still being sought for the sale, including anyone who can help move books, monitor tables, and help clean up after the event, the nonprofit said.
