USS Hornet Announces Veterans Job Fair
To kick of Veterans Day, USS Hornet is hosting a Veterans Job Fair, Alameda. #hiring #military #militaryfamilies
In observance of Veterans Day, he non-profit USS Hornet Museum in Alameda, CA, is holding a Veterans Job Fair on Thursday, November 10, 2016, from 10 am to 3 pm. Advance registration for job seekers is encourage; advanced registration for employers is required. Attendees of this event may return to the ship for free the following day to partake in a variety of Veterans Day activities and ceremonies.
Employers may register by October 28 at this link: https://www.eventbrite.com/e/veterans-job-fair-employer-recruiter-registration-form-registration-28161702410. We are looking for a wide variety of industries so forward far and wide. Construction, tech industry, places who need drivers, health care (esp. home health care), education, you name it. Booth fees range from $150-$600. Businesses already registered include Home Depot, A/C Transit, Caterpillar, Alameda Police, UC Office of the President, Magination, colleges, and security companies.

Vets In Tech will give a workshop at 11 am about how veterans can break in to the tech industry.
Veterans and military families often face barriers when seeking civilian work. These barriers can include last of being able to successfully transfer military skill sets into civilian job descriptions or duties. For spouses, the barrier arises when moving to a new community with no contacts.
