Leadership groups for young men and young women in Alameda are forming at the historic Masonic Lodge near Alameda High School. The groups focus on leadership, community, social and morality. The young men’s group is called ‘DeMolay International’ and the young women’s groups is called ’The International Order of the Rainbow for Girls’. Any girl or boy who believes in a Supreme Being from any religion is interested in joining is welcome. The evening will include a brief presentation, introduction to current DeMolay and Rainbow Girls, Pizza for youth and parents and a lodge tour.

DeMolay is different from other organizations in several ways. First, it’s open to all kinds of guys with all kinds of interests. If a chapter decides they want to, they can devote their chapter’s entire attention to sailing. If they want to focus on soccer, chess, crew, golf, basketball, swimming, volunteering, or stamp collecting, that’s O.K. too. Each chapter has its own personality and each member has a chance to make the chapter what he wants it to be. DeMolay opens doors for young men aged 12 to 21 by developing the civic awareness, personal responsibility and leadership skills so vitally needed in society today. Famous DeMolay include Walt Disney, United State President Bill Clinton and Fran Tarkenton.
