"African Summer" to Be Celebrated Wednesday
The event at UC Berkeley International House will feature job creation efforts on the continent of Africa, including hand-beaded bracelets.

Whole Foods Market will host an event at the UC Berkeley International House to recognize and celebrate those who support entrepreneurship and enterprise in Africa. It’s called “African Summer”—the highlight of the program is LOVE bracelets, which are hand-beaded by Maasai women in Kenya.
From June 10-24, Northern California & Reno stores (along with stores in Washington, Oregon and British Columbia) will be selling handmade bracelets from Maasai women in Kenya to show support for job creation and fair wages on the continent.
The event features a panel discussion of brands committed to sustainable economic opportunities in Africa, featuring leaders at CTC International, Alafia, Madécasse Madagascar Chocolate and Allegro Coffee Company.
