Join Sixth Station Trio in an enchanting afternoon of works by Maurice Ravel, Robert Schumann, and Joseph Haydn, culminating in a program of the ensemble's favorites arranged for piano trio. Ravel's Pavane, originally composed for piano solo and later orchestrated, is one of his most well-known works that the trio will be performing their own arrangement of. Haydn's Piano Trio in G Major is a classic piano trio with a spritely first movement, thoughtful second movement, and lively third movement. Lastly, Robert Schumann's Fantasiestucke, Op. 88, or Fantasy Pieces, is a four-movement work depicting the various sides of Schubert's personalities, Eusebius and Florestan. Although the trio officially debuted in 2023 , the members of Sixth Station Trio have been playing chamber music together since their high school years at Ruth Asawa San Francisco School of the Arts, and through their time pursuing undergraduate and graduate degrees at the San Francisco Conservatory of Music.They have since built a huge following for their performances of the scores from numerous Studio Ghibli films (master works by Hayao Miyazaki's studio: Spirited Away, Ponyo, Kiki's Delivery Service), as well as music from Nintendo, which they perform at Grace Cathedral and Old First in San Francisco.
