Albany Fire Department Seeking Firefighters, Paramedics
The AFD is seeking a firefighter/paramedic who would perform firefighting and EMT duties, and educate the public on safety and preparedness.
ALBANY, CA — The Albany Fire Department is hiring firefighters/paramedics. The firefighter/paramedic role performs various duties to protect life and property, including:
- All phases of firefighting, fire prevention
- Public education about fire prevention and disaster preparedness
- Responding to emergency medical, fire, rescue, and hazardous materials alarms and public service calls
- Vehicle and equipment inspections
- Cleaning and reloading equipment
Applicants must have at least a 12th grade education, training in fire science and related fields, and at least 6 months of experience as a full-time paramedic at the time of application. They must also possess a number of valid certifications. See here for a full list of requirements. Applications are due March 31.
The position pays $8,660.47 to $12,716.24,, and includes 11.5% paramedic pay, holiday pay, and uniform allowance.
