Albany High to Honor Civil Rights Leaders Kris Perry and Sandy Stier

The Community is invited to celebrate two civil rights activists, Kris Perry and Sandy Stier, Albany parents who took their campaign for marriage equality all the way to the U.S. Supreme Court this spring. 

On Monday, May 6, Albany High School will honor the women at the school's Little Theater at 7:30 p.m. with a reception at 8:15 p.m. The recognition will be part of the high school’s PTSA meeting.

Kris and Sandy are parents of two Albany High School students and are lead plaintiffs in a lawsuit challenging California’s ban at same-sex marriage.

This case was heard by the U.S. Supreme Court in March and a decision is
expected in June.
