Albany Police Activites League "Crocodile" Wrestlers Shine

The Albany Police Activities League (APAL) “crocodile” wrestlers hosted young wrestlers from Pittsburgh on Saturday, November 23. This was our first scrimmage with another team.  Both teams enjoyed the competition with different partners and especially demonstrating their skills to family and friends.  Coaches were available to encourage the wrestlers and show them new skills no matter which team they were on.

Crocodile wrestling is open to boys and girls from first through fifth grades.  Practices are held on Monday and Wednesday from 6:30 – 7:30 at Ocean View School and on Saturday from 10:00 – 11:30 at Albany High School.

Every practice is supervised by coaches with wrestling experience and is lots of fun. The sport of wresting includes tumbling and stretching and improves coordination and agility. Socialization and team building skills also increase as wrestlers work together becoming one team. Participants are paired with other wrestlers of similar weight and age.   No previous experience is necessary to participate.
