Additionally, on May 3, 2021, Albany City Council approved that the City of Albany permanently refer to the holiday formerly known as Columbus Day as Indigenous Peoples Day. Today’s flag raising and the recognition of Indigenous Peoples Day are part of the City’s ongoing commitment to prioritize inclusivity and recognize all members of our community.
