Albany School Makes U.S. News Rankings 2016 Best High Schools

Albany High School made the list for Top Schools in California.

ALBANY, CA - Albany High is ranked the 119th best high school in California by the prestigious US News and World Reports 2016 rankings.

The school was singled out because "Students have the opportunity to take Advanced Placement® coursework and exams. The AP participation rate at Albany High is 56 percent. The student body makeup is 52 percent male and 48 percent female, and the total minority enrollment is 65 percent. Albany High is the only high school in the Albany City Unified”.

"The U.S. News rankings include data on more than 21,000 public high schools in 50 states and the District of Columbia," states U.S. News & World Report. "Schools were awarded gold, silver or bronze medals based on their performance on state assessments, their graduation rates and how well they prepare students for college."

The report includes information about curriculum, test scores and student demographics.
