AUSD Parents, Students & Staff:

Today we were notified that an Albany High School student was approached by a man in a vehicle near San Pablo and Portland as she was walking to school. The individual pulled alongside her and started showing her inappropriate images from his phone. The student ignored the man and arrived at school safely.  Her parents and the police were notified along with Albany High School administration. The following is a description:

The safety and well-being of our students is our highest priority at Albany Unified School District. We ask that you find time to talk to your students, in an age-appropriate manner, about general safety while traveling to/from school.  Here are some additional resources for parents and students:

Please remind students that if they are approached by a stranger to get to safety first and then immediately inform you, their teacher, or principal.  Any suspicious activity should be immediately reported to the school and Albany Police at (510) 525-7300.
