Albany Alcohol and Drug Abuse Prevention Council Seeks Grant Applications
Grants available for local programs focusing on drug abuse prevention and other mental health challenges
The Albany Alcohol and Drug Abuse Prevention Council is accepting Community Grant applications.
Applications will be accepted through November 26, 2012 with grants being awarded by November 30.. The amount and total number of grants awarded will be determined at the sole discretion of the Prevention Council Board of Directors.
The total amount to be awarded will not exceed $1,000. Applications will be accepted from public agencies, nonpublic schools and 501(c)(3) nonprofit corporations that are located within the Albany city limits or who serve Albany residents.

Applications will be accepted for projects or activities which:
- create a healthy community, encouraging appropriate choices for young people and adults regarding the use of alcohol and other drugs
- increase community education and awareness of alcohol and other drug abuse problems
- increase community services and programs in the areas of drug abuse prevention and other mental health challenges which are addressed by existing public and private agencies
Applications must identify the need that is being met by your project/event, and the number of people served and their ages. All projects must be completed by June 30, 2013, and any unspent funds must be returned to the Prevention Council.

Upon completion of the project, the attached Evaluation and Summary Report, including appropriate receipts, must be submitted to the Prevention Council. Grant funds are not transferable to any other person for any other project, nor may grant funds be used in any attempt to influence legislation within the meaning of the Internal Revenue Code Section 501(c)(3).
Your signature on the grant application denotes acceptance of the above regulations.
The Albany Prevention Council, established in 1987, is proactive in city-wide efforts to keep our schools and community safe and healthy. This all volunteer organization is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit corporation.
