The Albany Library will be hiring a part-time Library Page. This position is 37.5 hours bi-weekly and requires work on Tuesday evenings and every other Saturday, plus six Sundays per year.

DESCRIPTION
Under close supervision, to do general manual and clerical work in a public library, on a part-time basis; and to do related work as required.
EXAMPLES OF DUTIES
NOTE: The following are the duties performed by employees in this classification. However, employees may perform other related duties at an equivalent level. Each individual in the classification does not necessarily perform all duties listed.
1. Shelves books and other library resources according to numbers or alphabetically by author's name.
2. Sets up meeting room for library programs.
3. Collects materials from book drop; unloads bins of library material received from other branches.
4. Checks books in on a computer terminal.
5. Answers patrons’ basic location questions for material and services and refers patrons to appropriate staff for more complex questions or service needs.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Possession of the following knowledge and abilities:
• Must be age 16 by examination closing date. (NOTE: The Civil Service Commission may modify the above Minimum Qualifications in the announcement of an examination.)
